You know you want to grow in your relationship with God but you also know that it’s hard to make that happen by yourself. Of course, there are books you can read, podcasts you can download, and blogs you can frequent. But what about when you have questions that your books don’t have answers to or life throws circumstances at you that you don’t know how to navigate? And really, when it all comes down to it, isn’t it true that one of the most effective ways to grow in your relationship with God is to grow in your relationships with other Christians?
At Passage, we believe that the most practical way to learn to obey Jesus is to put yourself in an environment that requires you to move past your own self-focus and toward a Gospel focus. That means putting aside the things that consume your thoughts (most likely you) and engaging with other believers by asking the questions that get to the heart of life. How are you really doing, what have you been learning, what are you trusting God for, what is hard for you to believe, what things, other than Jesus, have captured your heart?
We call these places Discipleship Groups because we believe that true discipleship happens in the context of relationships. When people are honest about the good, the bad, and the ugly of life and learn to point each other toward Jesus in the midst of it, we all start to look a little more like Jesus.
Drop us an email or connect with us on a Sunday morning to find out how you start growing in a Discipleship Group.
